A complete Pilnick

Since I posted the picture of the unidentified young man schmoozing in a wine bar with the lovely Luciana, many of you have come forward to identify him as Kevin Pilnick, who is running her campaign.

For a council employee, he does seem to enjoy having a high profile in political circles, as you can see here.

One wonders why he doesn't run for office himself, unless of course he is this Kevin Pilnick, also of West Derby, that appeared before Liverpool County Court in 2008.

This is just mud-slinging and not in the public interest. This person is not a politically restricted council officer, he is not an elected politician and, as far as I know, is not trying to get elected. Therefore what justification is there in publishing this post, other than to offend and embarrass a poltical opponent?

The Kettle said...

Yes Mr Pot, isn't this like the Labour leaflet that went out across the city attacking "Lib Dem Laura" just because she is in a relationship with a politician.

If I recall, you also lied that she was from Somerset, which was a big shock to her parents when you delivered the leaflet to the family home in Allerton!

Politics in Liverpool is low. Very low. Both sides seem to think that "but they did it" is somehow a valid excuse. How very sad.

Hopefully, somewhere, not writing a despicable blog or delivering a scurrilous leaflet there are some political activists doing some good.
On this evidence, it doesn't appear to be the case. Political parties are as good as their lowest act.

I do not agree with attacking staff members, I agree with the first post, its not in the public interest.

However I think it pretty cheap that the Labour Party would complain at this post. Laura is a very good friend of mine and I was disgusted at the Labour leaflet attacking her and even more disgusted at the Labour Party Councillors seen delivering it. I'm sure this is a point the DTD is making.

Perhaps Labour should make sure their own house is order before complaining about other campaigns?

Tom

You, the Fib Dems are morally and politically bankrupt.
That's why you run your campaign from the gutter, it's all you understand.
You, the Fib Dems have nothing politically to offer the electorate, either locally or nationally.
Go back and slither under your stone in the gutter where you belong.

I find it disgusting that you have published this. This mans 'crime' is to have gone to lunch with someone who you think of as a rival. He certainly does not deserve to have his personal private business published on your blog.
You should be ashamed of yourselves, that you have set out to try and distroy him, its not as if its even going to help you win the seat you want. Its utterly pointless.
Shame on you, now I know the Lib Dems have no morals. I really dont know how you sleep at night to stoop so low, there is no need to be cruel, but you took it to a new level! Disgusted

The Dude's logic seems to be, "hey, the ethics of [whatever it is Labour's done this time] is pretty questionable, so I'm going stoop even lower!

You're all sad little people, Lib Dems and Labour alike. The Lib Dems post this childish blog propagating utter rubbish which nobody outside of the (tiny) Liverpool political sphere cares about, and then Labour work themselves into an emotional frenzy by rising to the provocation.

I'm sure this is the response the Lib Dems want, unless they're deluded enough to think this blog is actually going to persuade people like me to vote Lib Dem. It would potentially push me towards voting Labour, were it not for the fact that Labour waste their time responding to this rubbish.

Why don't you just phone each other up now and then to hurl abuse?

Proper insider said...

Yes, but Tom, why don't you explain to me why you have had me on leaflets that mean nothing to the area in which it has been delivered?

Surely that amounts to nothing but a personal attack.

I hope your looking forward to your tenure on the council. Perhaps then you will know what being a "legitimate" target feels like if/when you are plastered all over a leaflet. Then see if you have what it takes to withstand the callous viciousness of it all.

Seeing the way you cower behind Eldridge, I somehow doubt it.

Read the dislaimer, DTD is not run or controlled by the lib Dems and, regardless of his political sympathies, Dude (whoever he or she is) is not speaking on behalf of the party.

Contrast that with activities of Labour, which I note that nobody is offering to defend, which are done on official leaflets and pushed through the door of their victim's parents, neighbours, and friends.

I think that Labour people should count themselves lucky that the worst they get in return is having the micky taken out of them on a satirical blog that is only read by politicians, journalists and activists.

Hmmm...I recognise that dog from a Lib Dem leaflet.

why did this site have a Lib Dem imprint on it for some time? Now, where is that screenshot I took...

Who on earth could have said this:

"So we launched our manifesto at 8am this morning at The Room in Castle Street. Great venue and some food was laid on. Pastries unfortunately, I would have chosen bacon sandwiches. Maybe I need to speak to Warren about putting me in charge of food selection?

Anyway, lots of exciting ideas to take the city forward and I was very pleased to see a pledge to fight the incinerator plans. As I said before, I have a very sensitive nose and I am concerned that all the dust from the incinerator could leave me sneezing all the time.

Have a look at the manifesto and let me know what you think."

I wonder who it was who launched their manifesto in The Room in Castle Street?

There´s only one person that has appeared in a leaflet outside of their "area" before.. clearly she hasn't thought about her "anonymous" post there... duh!

The issue of "Lib Dem Laura" was entirely legitimate to highlight. She was (is) the partner of a senior Lib Dem and on the face of it appeared to get her job in a rather convenient fashion in such a way that many would say warranted further investigation. If it were not legitimate then why was an investigation carried out? The tone of how that issue was dealt with is, however, open to debate.

This story, however, appears to be a gratuitous attempt to single out someone simply because they are a Labour activist and Council employee (which is entirely legitimate) - not someone who has potentially profited from that relationship - through dredging up personal details that have absolutely no bearing on anything except the lad's own future.

I really hope you're proud of yourself. I'm sure you feel really good about it. What morals you have.

Dont be under any illusion Mr Pilnick would stand for election had he not have been declared bankrupt.............hello!!!!!! - unless Labour have changed this law also, as they have with almost anything their sympathisers get caught up in. Incidentally when does the County 'Rose' candidate appear before the Crown for assault?

I believe the dog may have gone freelance since the days of him giving endorsements on leaflets

This is a downright disgraceful smear. I think many LibDems would be ashamed to associate themselves with the man who did this. Its simply unacceptable to single out a member of a political party in this manner.

We'll have the last laugh though when we take control of the Council in May and return 5 Labour MPs! What will you all do then? Sad bastards!

We're in the middle of the worst global recession in fifty years. Individuals are losiung their jobs. Small businesses, sole traders & individual entrepreneurs are becoming insolvent by the truckload. Even larger firms are struggling to survive, a number in Liverpool not even managing that.

So what does this LibDem blogger have to say on the matter? Sympathy? Solutions? Policy proposals? Not a word.

All we get as usual from these LibDems is infantile sneering & personal attacks. Their brains are as empty as their political prospects - as this dog of a blog repeatedly shows.

Ethical Bill said...

My dear anonymous, I have no idea if Dude was at the campaign launch or not in 2008.

But considering Dude has also claimed to be IDA meetings in London, and under the table during Labour party meeting deciding the selection process for Wavertree, I think we can perhaps take such statements as the artistic licence of a satirical blog.

Likewise, I have never encountered Mr Brocklebank, even though he has claimed to be at meetings that I also attended.

I think some of the people commenting here need to get a life. This is a mildly amusing blog, probably read by no more than a few dozen people, non of whom are likely to change their vote because of what they read here.
What is more amusing is to watch various people explode with venom and bile in reaction to the relatively inoffensive posts from the dog.
Perhaps it's frustration at being stuck indoors in this weather, but surely there are better things to do then spend hours trailing through all of Dude's posts to prove some minor point, how sad is that?
No one is pushing this blog through your door or broadcasting it in through your window with a megaphone. If it raises your blood pressure so much, don't read it.

Anonymous said...

Ronnie, Dude is just a dog. Should you really be looking to a dog for solutions to the global economic crisis? Perhaps this is where Labour have gone wrong?

Can I suggest you look to www.libdems.org.uk for information on Lib Dem policy, since that is the Lib Dem website, this blog isn't.

If this was Vince Cable's blog, I could understand you expecting something more than anecdotes and sarcasm.

Pilnick should take legal action!

Legal Eagle said...

Pilnick should take legal action for what exactly?
Rebroadcasting his youtube video or reprinting part of either the daily post or echo which listed insolvencies in 2008?
Yes go and see a solicitor, I am sure they would welcome a good laugh.

Proper insider said...

Its this sort of utter vicious rubbish that i'm not seeking re-election.

Lib Dems have whats coming to them.

Bully Bulldog said...

Proper Insider... like the personal attacks you made on Pat Moloney on your blog when he wasn't in office?

I think the point Tom made was this.. You are an elected official.. if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

If you are NOT an elected member then perhaps you should be exempt from attacks, unless you are lying scumbag.. such as McBride or Campbell (coincidentally Labour hacks.. strange that)

Anyways, I'd stop threatening on websites and blogs if I were you, otherwise there maybe another "Newsham" incident.. we wouldn't want that now would we ;)

What? Louise isn't standing again? So it's okay for her to put out nasty leaflets about the Lib Dems, write awful blog posts about the Lib Dems and other parties.. but when she gets attacked, she stands down in moral outrage? Strange...

Phythian Pete said...

What latest anon ? Is Lou-Bo standing down ? As she doesn't live in Kensington and Fairfield, unlike Frank Doran, one shouldn't be surprised I suppose but one is ! Who will take over ? Surely not that woman with the Wilma Flintstone hair-do ? Can someone elucidate please ?

OMG Louise has gone.

Oh well.

Hello Frank!

Whistle-blower said...

Why has Louise Baldock resigned?

Is it anything to do with her fall-out with Wendy, one has to wonder.

Perhaps it was because she could not deliver on those redevelopment promises. You have done the honourable thing, Louise.

Best wishes with the future.

Ethical Bill said...

I have never been a fan of her personally, but i have always believed that Louise, like almost everyone in politics, got involved for the right reasons even if i disagree with how she sometimes goes about it.

I genuinely wish her luck with whatever she decides to do instead.

F.A. said...

I completely agree with most of what Ethical Bill has just said. I didn't agree with some of the leaflets she did, but she was definitely one of Labour's best campaigners.

Anonymous said...

Has there been an official announcement yet? There wont be much time to get a new candidate established.

Louise Baldock said...

Yes, I can confirm I will not be contesting my seat again. I will not be doing it with immediate effect, so I do not cause a by-election, but it is my dearest wish to get away from the council chamber as it stands.

I am deeply unhappy at the way it is run and elements within my own party who seek only to damage the reputation of good work done previously.

Frank Doran can go to hell.

RESTORING STANDARDS said...

Thank you Louise for standing down so graciously. Completely in keeping with your reputation. No longer will parents have to cover their childrens ears at community events lest they hear your ribald remarks. Frank Doran will bring back a sense of community, understanding and good manners that have been missing from Kensington & Fairfield during Labour's disastrous period "representing"(ahem!)local people.
