Satirical political blogging in Liverpool is reborn, and in a smaller package.
Unlike the previous canine correspondents, Hammy can get into those hidden corners of the corridors of power. Eeking out the hot gossip you won't see elsewhere.

Wavertree selection advertised
Here it is, before it is even hot on the press.
Many thanks to my Labour source who sent me the Liverpool Wavertree selection advert for Labour, which has been drafted in advance of today's meeting.

This is just really horrid - no one cares for this kind of nasty politics anymore.
Really horrid is putting out leaflets portraying an elderly councillor as a paedophile and saying he wants children to be allowed to perform in porn films. That's Labour's idea of how to act towards an opponent.
In contrast, this is satire and pretty mild satire at that.
So Michael, you are confirming that Labour think portraying someone as a paedophile is acceptable campaign technique? The guy responsible for that wasn't expelled, I believe you made him a regional organiser. So much for the moral high ground.
Please explain how is sexist of Dude to suggest a selection is being fixed to favour a certain candidate. That's certainly what some Labour councillors are saying.
My understanding is, if the Wavertree selection does go all-women, it will be because of the frantic lobbying by Unison bigwigs for their preferred candidate, Cllr Wendy Simon. The unions should keep their noses out of Labour party selections.
I don't remember reading about a court case where an elderly councillor sued a Labour party member for libelling him as a peadophile. Did I miss this or was it all settled out of court?
UNISON has the right to try and support one of our own members - thank you very much. Those of us that join the Labour party have the right to be considered to be Labour MPs. Wendy is excellent.
I have not seen Luciana for many years but I remember she was very impressive when she was in NUS. I wish her luck but hope Wendy will win!
It is about time more seats when All women short list.
I walked Harold Wilson's dog Paddy around Huyton a few times in the sixties and I think that with the exit of JFK the balance in favour of dog walkers called Luciana needs redressing so I put my name forward and would like to hear from possible supporters. PS: I do admire your coat Dude - so slinky !
I'm just gutted Anna Rothery pulled out. Such a nice woman and a first rate brain. Surely there was enough time for her to change her name by deed poll to Luciana?
I’m proud that Wavertree’s Labour party has decided to opt for an all women shortlist. Whenever a local Labour party takes the tough decision to go down this route there will be accusations that the move is in a particular candidates favour – but we shouldn’t forget the bigger picture – that only 1 in 5 current MPs are women and there is still a lot to do. The long and honest campaign for equality shouldn’t be dragged down by such personal attacks

Learn to tell the difference!!!

Even the most ardent dungaree wearing feminist wouldn't call dude's article sexist.
Can you believe they are so sensitive? They don't like it up em!

Am I suitable?

Politically Correct, I disagree with your grotesque stereotypes of lesbians. Um, I mean feminists.
Dude, I call for some censorship.
Face it, Luciana is a bit of a Carry On.
Luciana Bugger, you are welcome to apply, but do you meet the requirement of being the ex of a Labour leader's son?

I'd rather our Prescot Road HQ was renamed the "Wendy House"
I had a long standing affair with Malcolm MacDonald, son of Ramsay.
Is that suitable enough?
Good old Rammy. How I miss those heady days.
Dude you where right about the selection! How did you know? Where you hiding under the table in the meeting?
I'm just gutted Anna Rothery pulled out. Such a nice woman and a first rate brain. Surely there was enough time for her to change her name by deed poll to Luciana?
Why are the Lib Dems so scared of Luciana?
Maybe they are scared that Tony and Cherie will come out personally to campaign for her. After all the Blairs' are incredibly popular in Liverpool.
Has she told you the one about Chris Davies and the Palestinian camel ?
